"Warriors: Abyss Launches Today as a Roguelite Game"

Hot on the heels of the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has launched another thrilling addition to the musou genre with Warriors: Abyss. This new roguelite game brings the iconic characters from the Warriors series into a fresh and exciting gameplay experience, available as of today.

Showcased during the latest PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss invites players to form a squad of beloved characters and battle through hordes of enemies. The game adopts an isometric camera view, drawing inspiration from games like Diablo and the Greek mythology-based roguelite, Hades.

In Warriors: Abyss, players will navigate through the depths of "hell," confronting demonic foes along the way. The trailer featured a variety of characters from the Warriors universe, including Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, each ready to join your fight.

According to the PlayStation Blog, you can recruit and add characters to your team over time, enhancing your combat capabilities with additional summoning options. Players can deploy up to seven active heroes in battle, with a launch roster of 100 warriors available today.

Koei Tecmo has ambitious plans for post-launch content, beginning with new characters from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at future updates that may include characters beyond the Warriors series, promising even more variety and excitement.

Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It's set to release on Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025.
