WoW Celebrates Anniversary with Currency Extension

WoW Patch 11.1 Auto-Converts Unused Bronze Celebration Tokens

World of Warcraft's Patch 11.1 will automatically convert leftover Bronze Celebration Tokens into Timewarped Badges. This conversion, at a rate of 1 Bronze Celebration Token to 20 Timewarped Badges, will occur upon players' first login after the patch's release.

The 20th-anniversary event, concluding on January 7th, allowed players to accumulate Bronze Celebration Tokens used for purchasing various items, including revamped Tier 2 sets and anniversary collectibles. Any remaining tokens will now be transformed into the Timewalking currency, Timewarped Badges.

Blizzard confirmed the Bronze Celebration Tokens would not be used again, prompting this automatic conversion to prevent players from holding onto unusable currency. This ensures players don't have obsolete entries cluttering their in-game currency tabs.

While a precise release date for Patch 11.1 is unannounced, February 25th is a strong contender. This aligns with Blizzard's recent update schedule, considering the holiday season and the timing of other in-game events, such as the Plunderstorm and Turbulent Timeways events.

Consequently, the token conversion will likely occur after the second Turbulent Timeways event concludes. This event provides ample opportunities to spend Timewarped Badges, with no planned removal of the rewards they purchase. Players can therefore save their converted badges for future Timewalking events.
