Nightmare Crownless is a formidable addition to the array of Nightmare versions of Overlord-class Echoes in Wuthering Waves. This variant stands out with its bonus Havoc DMG and Basic Attack DMG, making it a stellar choice for characters who thrive on dealing high damage.

Like other Nightmare Echoes, Nightmare Crownless can be obtained by farming its designated overworld spawn point. However, to face this challenging adversary, you must first complete the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest and an additional step. Here’s your roadmap to unlocking Nightmare Crownless.

Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide

The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest is a unique venture in Wuthering Waves. Rather than being triggered by an NPC or an interactable object, this quest is accessed via the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Navigate to this menu by opening your map and clicking the compass icon located in the upper-left corner, adjacent to your current location's name.

This quest intertwines with the optional Quest of Faith, which requires defeating four enemies in designated areas within Penitent's End. To kick things off, head to the Resonance Beacon near the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Interact with the prompt you find near the circular arena by the beacon, initiating a battle against a Questless Knight, reminiscent of those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest.

To conquer these knights, you must strategically lure them close to a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. To reignite an extinguished torch, bait a Fae Ignis enemy into striking it. Exercise caution and avoid using powerful skills near the torches to prevent inadvertently putting them out.

How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa

Once you've successfully navigated through Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, your next task is to locate all four Dream Patrols scattered across Penitent's End. While completing these challenges isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, doing so will reward you with additional resources and Monnaie in WuWa. The locations of these Dream Patrols are marked in the image above. After discovering all the patrols, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map, ready to be encountered in the ruins north of Penitent's End.

It's crucial to remember that farming Nightmare Echoes requires the use of Enhanced Absorption charges, which boost the Echo drop rate. You receive only 15 such charges per week, so it's wise to manage them carefully, especially if you're aiming to enhance multiple characters.
