Wuthering Waves: Elemental Effects, Explained

Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. While initially serving primarily as character buffs and enemy resistances, elements now feature more direct interactions via Elemental Effects. This guide details these effects and the limited equipment currently leveraging them.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:

All six elements possess unique status effects applied through specific attacks. Dodging removes these stacks.

Elemental Effect	Effect Description
Havoc Bane	Stacks up to 2; at 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. Stacks increase periodically.
Glacio Chafe	Reduces movement speed; intensity increases with stacks (up to 10 stacks). At 10 stacks, the resonator is Frozen. Players can "Struggle" to reduce freeze duration.
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks reduce periodically, dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10; at 10 stacks, explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't deplete to deal DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Electro Flare	Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%).

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:

Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited.

Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle, also applying a Shimmer effect preventing stack decay. This sustained Spectro Frazzle is crucial for specific Echoes and Echo sets.

Echoes and Echo Sets Leveraging Elemental Effects:

Currently, only one Echo set benefits from Elemental Effects, primarily supporting Spectro Rover.

Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Applying Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s. 10 stacks of Spectro Frazzle grants a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
Echo - Nightmare: Increases DMG dealt to enemies inflicted by Spectro Frazzle by 100%. Provides a 12% Spectro DMG bonus to the equipped Resonator.

While the game shows signs of expanding Elemental Effect integration, currently, its application remains niche, primarily focused on Spectro Rover and the Eternal Radiance Echo set.
