Spanning over a century, Nintendo's rich history will soon be on full display at its newly constructed museum in Kyoto. Opening its doors on October 2, 2024, the museum offers a comprehensive journey through the company's legacy. Shigeru Miyamoto's recent YouTube tour showcased the impressive collection of memorabilia and iconic products that shaped this video game behemoth.

Built on the site of Nintendo's original factory—where Hanafuda playing cards were first produced in 1889—this modern two-story museum provides an immersive experience. A welcoming Mario-themed plaza greets visitors before they embark on their historical adventure.

Miyamoto's tour showcased Nintendo's diverse product range across the decades. From early board games, dominoes, and chess sets to RC cars and the pioneering Color TV-Game consoles of the 1970s, the exhibits are incredibly diverse. Visitors will even encounter unexpected items, such as the "Mamaberica" baby stroller!

A significant highlight is the Famicom and NES exhibit, representing a pivotal era in Nintendo's history. Classic games and peripherals from various regions are on display, illustrating Nintendo's global reach. The evolution of beloved franchises like Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda is also meticulously documented.
