Devarattam Digital Transformation

This app, part of my "Devarattam Digital Transformation" project, celebrates the folk dance of Tamil Nadu.

Kalaimamani awardees Mr. M Kumararaman, a retired teacher, Mr. M Kannan Kumar, and Mr. K Nellai Manikandan from Zamin Kodangipatti, honored with the Kalaimamani and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, have elevated Devarattam. I dedicate this app to these legends, my guru Mr. E Rajakamulu, and beloved Devarattam icons. The app promotes Devarattam and its awardees, detailing the dance and its honorees. Devarattam, performed historically and today by Rajakambalathu Nayakkar, features 32 to 72 steps, with 32 as the core and others as variations.

Devarattam dancers, holding a kerchief in each hand and wearing Salangai on their legs, perform to the rhythm of the Deva Thunthumi instrument.
