Rebel Wolves Set Sights on The Witcher 3 Level Quality for The Blood of Dawnwalker

Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former developers from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, has announced their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker. While not aiming for a full-scale AAA experience, the team's aspirations are undeniably high.

Studio founder Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz stated their goal is to achieve Witcher 3-level quality, albeit on a smaller scale:

“We aim for AAA quality, mirroring The Witcher 3—it's in our DNA. However, as a small studio launching our first project, we're crafting something more concise, yet equally refined.”

The estimated playtime is projected to be 30-40 hours:

“Comparing anything to The Witcher 3, designed for 100+ hours but often exceeding 200-300, is ambitious. But does sheer size define AAA? Call of Duty achieves AAA status without an extensive campaign. Therefore, is scale truly paramount?”

Tomaszkiewicz further dismissed industry classifications like "AAA" and "AAAA" as irrelevant.

The Blood of Dawnwalker, an action RPG, centers on a half-vampire racing against a 30-day, 30-night deadline to rescue his loved ones. Despite the time constraint, the developers promise a streamlined gameplay experience. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, it's slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with the release date yet to be announced.
