"Elden Ring's Nightreign Update Alters Iconic Feature: Messaging System Removed"
Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously common in FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions as too short for effective message exchange. The brevity of each session prevents players from dedicating time to either leaving or reading messages.
This departure from FromSoftware's established message-based interaction, a feature historically praised for enhancing player experience and interactivity, is noteworthy. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate narrative. While retaining the atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring world, Nightreign provides a fresh adventure with unique challenges and encounters.
