Running a livestock farm in *Fields of Mistria* can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, there's a solution: an auto-petter mod! While the base game doesn't include this feature, modding opens up exciting possibilities.

The *Fields of Mistria* base game requires daily petting of your livestock. To automate this, you'll need the "Animal Friends" mod by annanomoly, available on Nexus Mods. This mod not only auto-pets but also auto-feeds your animals. Crucially, you'll also need the Mods of Mistria Installer—it's essential for the mod to work.

Here's how to install the Animal Friends mod:

1. Create a new folder named "Mods" within your *Fields of Mistria* game files.
2. Download the AnimalFriends.zip file and place it in the "Mods" folder.
3. Extract the zip file's contents.
4. Delete the original AnimalFriends.zip file (or move it elsewhere).
5. Run the Mods of Mistria Installer to install the mod.

The Animal Friends mod offers customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier increases the hearts your animals gain, while the prevention feature ensures those hearts don't decrease.

To adjust settings, locate the AnimalFriends.json file within the extracted mod folder. This file is a simple text document. To enable a feature, change "false" to "true," and vice-versa to disable it. For the friendship multiplier, instead of "true" or "false," enter a number between 1 and 100. A value of 100 disables bonding, while 1 disables the multiplier.

Upon initial installation, auto-petting and auto-feeding are inactive by default. However, the mod automatically multiplies petting heart gains by five and activates friendship loss prevention.

To remove the mod, *don't* simply delete the folder. Use the Mods of Mistria Installer to uninstall it properly, preventing save file corruption.

Before installing any mod, always back up your save file. While this mod is generally stable, a backup is always a good precaution.
