Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC Specs Demand High-End Hardware for 4K

With the PC release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth just two weeks away, Square Enix has unveiled updated system requirements, highlighting the need for powerful hardware, especially for 4K resolution. The updated specifications emphasize the need for a high-end graphics card boasting 12-16GB VRAM for optimal 4K gameplay.

The game will leverage DLSS upscaling, Shader Model 6.6 support, and DirectX 12 Ultimate, ensuring enhanced visual fidelity and performance. Square Enix recommends a graphics card with 12GB-16GB VRAM for 4K resolutions, while the minimum requirements are significantly lower. However, even the recommended specs point towards a high-end gaming PC.

Key specifications include:

• Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (minimum), Windows 11 64-bit (recommended and ultra)
• Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1400/ Intel Core i3-8100 (minimum), AMD Ryzen 5 5600/ AMD Ryzen 7 3700X/ Intel Core i7-8700/ Intel Core i5-10400 (recommended), AMD Ryzen 7 5700X/ Intel Core i7-10700 (ultra)
• Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6600 / Intel Arc A580/ Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (minimum), AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT/ Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 (recommended), AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX/ Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 (ultra). Note: 12-16GB VRAM strongly recommended for 4K. Shader Model 6.6 and DirectX 12 Ultimate support are mandatory.

While a PS5 Pro patch enhanced the console version, no similar graphical upgrades are planned for the PS5 base version. Furthermore, unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake, no DLC is currently planned for Rebirth, with Square Enix focusing on Part 3. Although Steam Deck optimization was previously mentioned, no further updates have been provided. The PC launch is scheduled for January 23rd. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has previously highlighted the superior lighting, shaders, and textures in the PC port.
