For Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the PS5, Square Enix has alluded to visual enhancements

The PC version of the game boasts superior visuals and stability compared to its PS5 counterpart, sparking community discussion about the need for a PS5 update. The PS5 version, particularly in performance mode, suffers from blurry graphics, leaving base console owners reliant on future patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledges the considerable player demand for visual improvements on PS5, stating that such enhancements are feasible within the console's technical constraints.
"Following the PC version's promotional release, we've seen numerous requests for a similar PS5 update, and we intend to explore this possibility, respecting the PS5 version's performance limitations," Hamaguchi commented.
Square Enix is urged by players to address these concerns and enhance the console's visual fidelity.
While the team is actively developing the sequel, Hamaguchi requests patience from fans, promising further details at a later date. He highlights 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the trilogy, citing its global recognition and award wins. The upcoming third installment presents unique challenges as the developers aim for broader audience appeal. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI, acknowledging the immense pressure on the Rockstar Games team due to the phenomenal success of GTA V.
