Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse

In a recent official statement from NetEase Games, it has been made clear that using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles to play Marvel Rivals will lead to account suspension. The company views this practice as a breach of their rules, citing the unfair advantage it provides through enhanced control sensitivity and the continued use of aim assist features.

Adapters such as the XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable players to simulate gamepad inputs with a keyboard and mouse, offering a substantial edge in competitive play, particularly when auto-targeting is enabled. NetEase has defined these devices as follows:

"We classify adapters as any devices or software that mimic gamepad control using a keyboard and mouse, which disrupts the balance of gameplay, especially in competitive scenarios."

To enforce this policy, NetEase has developed sophisticated detection tools that accurately identify the use of these adapters. Accounts found violating these rules will face immediate suspension.

Additionally, there's a noted issue within Marvel Rivals where higher frame rates (FPS) correlate with increased ping. While the impact might be minimal with lower pings, a jump from a typical 90 ms to 150 ms can significantly disrupt gameplay. This issue appears to be tied to the game's frame rate.

For players experiencing this, the recommended strategy is to await a patch that addresses this concern and to experiment with finding the optimal balance between FPS and ping. Some community members suggest capping the FPS at around 90 for the time being. This may seem counterintuitive to those accustomed to games like Counter-Strike 2, but it's a practical approach for Marvel Rivals at present.
