Ninja Gaiden Franchise Reanimated by Phil Spencer

Team Ninja's long-awaited Ninja Gaiden 4 is finally on the horizon, a project years in the making, according to producer Fumihiko Yasuda. The studio struggled to solidify a concept until discussions involving Koei Tecmo president Hisashi Koinuma, PlatinumGames head Atsushi Inaba, and ultimately, Xbox's Phil Spencer, led to a collaborative effort between the three companies.
Spencer confirmed initial conversations dating back to 2017, highlighting the extensive deliberation before finding the perfect partner in PlatinumGames, renowned for their high-octane action titles like Bayonetta and NieR: Automata.
The surprise announcement last week wasn't the only news; a remastered Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, enhanced from its Xbox 360 origins, simultaneously launched on Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Early footage showcases Ryu Hayabusa returning as the protagonist in this action-packed slasher. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces innovative mechanics, such as rapid traversal using wires and rails, setting it apart from its predecessors.
While DOOM: The Dark Ages dominated the Developer_Direct spotlight, the reveal of Ninja Gaiden 4, a highly anticipated addition to the Koei Tecmo franchise, generated significant buzz. The game is slated for a Fall 2025 release.
