Tsukuyomi: Divine Hunter - New Deck-Building Roguelike by Kazuma Kaneko

by Nathan Apr 14,2025

Kazuma Kaneko, the acclaimed designer renowned for his work on Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Devil Summoner, is making a triumphant return with his latest project, Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter. Developed by COLOPL, this roguelike deck-building game is set to launch on PC, iOS, and Android, featuring Kaneko’s iconic dark and mythological style combined with strategic card-based combat.

Set in the futuristic Tokyo Bay, Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter unfolds within The Hashira, a towering high-rise transformed into a sealed battleground. This eerie structure is now home to gods and demons, and an elite national defense force, known as Tsukuyomi, is tasked with reaching the top floor to eliminate a formidable target.

Fans of Kaneko’s previous works will recognize the blend of urban decay and supernatural horror that creates an intense and eerie atmosphere in Tsukuyomi. The game masterfully fuses mythology with cyberpunk themes, promising a captivating experience upon its release later this year.

In Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, players will engage in a roguelike card game experience, building a deck of powerful abilities as they navigate through an ever-changing dungeon. Each run offers unique cards, layouts, and enemy encounters, ensuring no two playthroughs are the same.

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter Gameplay

Combat in Tsukuyomi is fast-paced and turn-based, requiring players to make strategic choices with each turn. With only one action per turn, whether an attack or defense, players must be quick and decisive to succeed.

While exploring the dungeon, players will encounter branching paths and critical decisions that shape their journey. Each choice carries lasting consequences, impacting battles and available resources. True to the roguelike genre, failure means losing all progress and starting over, emphasizing the need for careful planning.

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is slated for release around June 30th, though this date is subject to change. Interested players can pre-register by clicking on their preferred link below.
