Weekly Challenges: New Game Mode in The Battle of Polytopia
If you're a fan of strategic gameplay and competition, The Battle of Polytopia's new Weekly Challenges are set to elevate your gaming experience. This exciting update introduces a structured yet thrilling way to test your skills in this popular 4X strategy game. Let's dive into the details and see what this new feature brings to the table.
From Randomness to Structured Competition
Traditionally, The Battle of Polytopia has thrived on its randomness—varied enemies, resources, and maps keep every game session unpredictable. However, the latest free update shifts gears by adding a layer of structured competition with Weekly Challenges. Each week, players are presented with the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field for everyone.
The challenge? You have 20 turns to achieve the highest possible score. The catch? You can only attempt it once per day, allowing for a maximum of seven tries per week. This format not only adds a competitive edge but also introduces a strategic element as you plan your moves carefully within the limited attempts.
An added bonus of Weekly Challenges is the opportunity to play with tribes you might not own yet. The game boasts 16 tribes—four included in the base game and 12 others available for purchase between $1-4 each. But in this mode, everyone gets to compete with the same tribe, regardless of ownership, ensuring a fair and inclusive experience for all players.
Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, the introduction of Weekly Challenges is poised to inject fresh excitement into The Battle of Polytopia. Additionally, the new mode comes with a League system. Players start in the Entry League, and their performance each week determines whether they move up, down, or stay in the same league. The top third of players advance, the bottom third drop a league, and the middle group remains unchanged.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level scales accordingly. Starting with Easy AI in the Entry League, you'll face increasingly challenging bots, culminating in Crazy difficulty by the time you reach the Gold League. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of other players.
