"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"

by Finn May 14,2025

The release of Days Gone Remastered is approaching, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared insights into the enhanced accessibility features that will be part of this updated version. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when the intensity ramps up. This option is particularly useful for those who find high-pressure situations challenging.

In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, outlined the various accessibility enhancements. Players can now modify the Game Speed to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the normal pace. McAllister emphasized that this feature is designed to assist players who might feel overwhelmed, especially during encounters with hordes of Freakers. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this adjustment aims to make the unique combat experience more accessible.

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility options. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, which was previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.

Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered comes with several enhancements, including an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, alongside the new accessibility features. This remastered edition of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game, centered around a biker's journey, is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
