InZOI to Include Ghosts, Afterlife, and Karma System

InZOI's Game Director, Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, has unveiled intriguing details about the game's inclusion of unusual and paranormal elements. Players will have the unique opportunity to control ghosts, though this feature will be limited to ensure it complements rather than overshadows the core gameplay. This ghostly mechanic is intricately linked to a karma system, which meticulously tracks the actions of characters and significantly influences their future lives, extending its impact even beyond death.

The karma system plays a pivotal role in determining a character's fate after they pass away. Depending on their deeds, characters may either transition peacefully to the afterlife or be condemned to exist as a ghost, lingering among the living. For these spectral beings to finally depart from the mortal realm, they must accumulate the necessary karma points.

In the early access version of InZOI, ghosts will be present, but players will not yet have the ability to control them; this feature is slated for a future update. Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim emphasized that InZOI is fundamentally a game centered around real life, and thus, paranormal elements will be kept subtle. However, the developer has hinted at the possibility of introducing other unexplained phenomena to enrich the game's universe in the future.
