Ned Luke boldly predicts GTA 6 will generate $1.3 billion in its first 24 hours. In a Fall Damage YouTube interview, he expressed his belief in the game's potential, highlighting Rockstar Games' knack for the unexpected. He emphasized patience, assuring fans it will be "amazing." Recalling GTA 5's impressive $800 million first-day haul in 2013, Luke confidently expects GTA 6 to significantly surpass that record. Market research firm DFC Intelligence supports this optimism, projecting over 40 million sales and $3.2 billion in revenue during the first year, with a billion dollars stemming from pre-orders alone.

Luke offered insights into the potential return of GTA 5 characters, noting Michael's absence from GTA Online, unlike Trevor and Franklin. He hinted at Michael's possible appearance in a final GTA Online DLC or even GTA 6 itself. While Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario involving Trevor's demise in GTA 6, Luke remained coy, stating, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official confirmation exists regarding their characters' roles in GTA 6.

Former Rockstar animator Mike York suggests GTA 6 is undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York highlighted the game's unprecedented unpredictability, emphasizing the unexpected possibilities arising from extensive playtesting. He believes GTA 6 is likely in its in-house testing phase, with final touches and additions still being implemented. He suggests the game is at least playable at this stage, with numerous testers potentially having completed playthroughs.

Rockstar Games unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, remaining silent on further details since. While Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report hinted at a Fall 2025 release, no official release date has been confirmed.
