Wingspan Asia Expansion Launches This Year with New Features
The beloved strategy video game, Wingspan, is gearing up to unveil its much-anticipated Asia Expansion later this year. While the exact release date remains under wraps, the expansion promises to bring a host of exciting new features to the game, including a variety of new birds, a thrilling new game mode, and more stunning sceneries inspired by the diverse landscapes of Asia.
Full Details on Wingspan Asia Expansion
The Asia Expansion for Wingspan will introduce an array of captivating new elements from across the Asian continent. Players will encounter a collection of unique birds hailing from countries like India, China, and Japan, each accompanied by their distinctive abilities and intriguing trivia. This expansion is set to enrich your gaming experience with 13 new bonus cards, of which two are specifically tailored for the Automa mode, enhancing solo play significantly.
Visually, the expansion will be a treat with four new backgrounds inspired by Asia's breathtaking landscapes. Additionally, eight new player portraits will be available, each reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of the region. The introduction of the Duet Mode promises an exhilarating one-on-one Wingspan experience, where players will compete on a special Duet Map, vying for habitat spaces and striving to meet different end-of-round objectives.
To complement the visual upgrades, the Asia Expansion will also feature audio enhancements. The soothing soundtrack by Paweł Górniak will be expanded with four new relaxing music tracks, perfectly setting the ambiance for your bird-watching and strategizing sessions.
Tried the Game Yet?
Adapted from Elizabeth Hargrave's acclaimed card-based board game, the digital version of Wingspan was first launched on PC in 2020, followed by mobile releases in 2021. In this engaging game, players work to attract the best birds to their wildlife preserve, strategically building powerful combinations with each bird. With a limited number of turns, players must balance food resources, egg-laying, and card draws, mirroring the behaviors of real-life birds—hawks hunt, pelicans fish, and geese form flocks.
While you eagerly await the Asia Expansion, you can explore the already available European and Oceania expansions by downloading the game from the Google Play Store.
