Online whispers about Assassin's Creed Shadows are growing louder following a purported leak of an artbook, surprisingly surfacing on a hentai website, among other locations.

The "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook, spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, has quickly spread across the internet. It boasts hundreds of pages brimming with concept art, developer quotes, and intriguing development details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed title. While the leak itself is noteworthy, its alleged origin adds a layer of unexpected intrigue. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

Although initially removed from the original source, the gallery has been archived and is now circulating on various file-sharing platforms.

The leaked art showcases concepts for renowned historical figures, major cities, and a diverse array of weaponry. The artwork also seemingly reveals potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's official release, the leaked images appear authentic.

This leak emerges shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' anticipated launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay from its initial 2024 release window.

At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Assassin's Creed Shadows game director, Charles Benoit. He confirmed the month-long delay was primarily focused on polishing the game, without significantly altering core systems. Minor adjustments were made to progression and balancing, but the parkour system received the most attention due to the unique challenges presented by Feudal Japan's architecture.

Benoit explained, "The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
