Capcom is optimizing Monster Hunter Wilds for improved performance and reduced GPU requirements before launch. A recent announcement on the game's German Twitter (X) account highlighted performance improvements, particularly in the PS5's Prioritize Framerate mode, which boosts fps at the expense of some visual detail. Similar optimizations are underway for the PC version, with a focus on lowering the recommended GPU requirements.

Currently, the minimum GPU requirements are an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT. Successful optimization could make the game playable on lower-end hardware, expanding its accessibility. Capcom also plans to release a free benchmarking tool to help players assess their system's compatibility.

The initial open beta test in October and November 2024 revealed performance issues, including low-poly character models and frame rate drops, even on high-end PCs. While some players found workarounds, these often compromised visual quality. Capcom acknowledged these issues, stating that improvements have been made since the beta, including a fix for afterimage noise.
